Organic Grapefruit and Valencia Orange Orders from Thorpe’s Farm! (order by Feb. 22)

More delicious citrus available from Thorpe’s farm in Lake Wales, FL. We are excited to offer their certified organic red seedless grapefruits and organic Valencia oranges. Valencia’s are full of flavor, deep orange and sweet! Great for juicing or wedging.

The fruit will be freshly picked, shipped to Buffalo, and available to pick up at Farmers & Artisans on Thursday, February 23 through Saturday, February 25th.

Produce & Flower Share Sign up (5% discount if you sign up by Jan. 31!)

We are enjoying the winter’s rest, but look forward to the flavors and colors of the upcoming produce season! Our produce shares offer a great variety of local fresh picked produce. Share pick ups start in June (date to be determined) and continue through early November.

This year we have decided to combine the vegetables and fruits in the weekly share pick-ups, and offer a full or partial option. Droughts, late freezes and wet springs have made meeting the demands of the fruit shares more difficult. We will continue to provide a very diverse, usable, and balanced variety of fresh and clean produce.

Emails are sent out weekly informing you of that week’s produce, including farm source, interesting produce information and recipes.

The produce is a mix of conventional, low spray, no spray and when possible, organic vegetables and fruits. Many of the farmers follow Cornell’s IPM guidelines. (Integrated Pest Management promotes safe, least-toxic solutions to minimize insects, plant diseases, weeds, and pesticide problems).

flowersChoice of pick up day is either Tuesdays or Thursdays, from 7 am to 7 pm. Flower pick up this season will be Tuesdays only.

We are offering a 5% discount off the total if you sign up by January 31. If the deposit is mailed, it must be post marked by January 31, to be eligible for the discount.

A 50% deposit is due to reserve your share, with the final balance due by May 15th. Please stop by or call us with any questions. You can also mail your form to us with your deposit.
