Thursday, March 16
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Also coming up – Kimchi Making Class! Kimchi is a traditional fermented Korean dish made with vegetables and seasonings. Fermented foods are necessary to help maintain the balance of bacteria in our GI systems. According to our instructor, Jessica Meyers Altman, plant-based chef and nutritionist, “Our bodies need healthy levels of bacteria. The current American diet destroys the balance of these microbes, throwing our systems out of whack.”

We will be making Jessica’s recipe of Ginger Carrot Daikon Kimchi.

Everything you need will be provided. Just bring an apron, and you’ll go home with your own jar of Kimchi, and a better understanding of the importance of fermented foods in our diets!

Cost for each class is $30.00

Announcement: Coming Soon…Elm Street Bakery Breads!

Elm Street Bakery is a family owned, East Aurora based bakery and market that features artisan breads made from locally-grown and seasonal ingredients. All of their bread is mixed, shaped and baked by hand.

bread

We are excited to partner with Elm Street Bakery and will carry East Aurora Sourdough, Sunflower Seed Levain, Caraway Rye and Honey Spelt varieties.

EA Sourdough: Elm Street’s signature all-purpose traditional sourdough bread. Crusty on the outside, tender on the inside with a mild tang. Great for toast, sliced fresh with butter, grilled cheese or with soup. (Sourdough base, flour, whole rye flour, water, sea salt, naturally-leavened.)

Sunflower Seed Levain: Toasted seeds bring out this bread’s nutty flavor. Similar to EA Sourdough except for 20% rye chops instead of whole rye, which makes it a little chewier. Great with soup or used for a sandwich, especially with avocado, tomato and sprouts.

Caraway Rye: The lightest of the sourdough ryes that improves with age. It is the closest to a Jewish rye- a classic deli rye. Great for toast, or grilled cheese, paninis & reubens. (Rye sourdough base, high-gluten flour, ground caraway, caraway seeds, water, sea salt, naturally-leavened.)

Organic Honey Spelt: Highly nutritious & easily digestible with 100% organic spelt. Great for toast, sandwiches or for French Toast. (100% organic spelt, 25% organic flour, local honey, water, yeast, sea salt, naturally-leavened.)

Bread will be delivered every Tuesday by noon,
with first delivery on Tuesday, February 28th!

Don’t miss out on these amazing artisan breads!
